Gene Marshall

Gene Marshall is a founding board member and initial Chairman of Northstar Bank, a community bank organized in the State of Florida and headquartered in Tampa.

He is also a consultant with Success Sciences Inc.

He is a retired Senior Vice President of JPMorgan Chase Bank and former Regional Operations Executive of the Tampa, San Antonio and Vancouver B.C. centers within the retail sector.

Mr. Marshall joined The Chase Manhattan Bank in 1969 in New York City. After spending 21 years in various management positions in Global Risk Management, International Custody Operations and Treasury Services of the global bank, he moved to the Retail Banking Sector and relocated to Tampa Bay in 1990. He built and managed operations processing centers in Tampa, San Antonio and Vancouver B.C. He was named Senior Vice President of JPMorgan Chase in 1993. He retired in June of 2004 after a career of 35 years with the bank.

Mr. Marshall continues to be active in the community, currently serving on the Boards of several non-profit organizations, namely:

  • Board Chair of the University Area Community Development Corp., which is improving the economic, educational and social welfare of more than 40,000 residents in the vulnerable University Area neighborhood.
  • Board member/past Chair of the Council for Education Change, Weston, Florida. The successor to the $100 million South Florida Annenberg Challenge.
  • Board member/ past Vice Chair of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
  • Board member of the Caribbean American National Development Organization Inc., a start up Caribbean cultural organization of 10 Civic Associations with the goal of building and operating a Cultural/Business Center in Tampa.

  • Advisory Board member The Junior League of Tampa
  • Board of Governors The Centre Club , Tampa

Mr. Marshall holds an MBA in Management from New York University and a BBA in Finance from the Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York.
He and his spouse Aldyth resides in Palm Harbor .
